Ayurvedic massage
Ayurvedic massage is just one of the branches of ayurvedic medicine, which combines science and philosohy and in which food and lifestyle are also key. During a real ayurvedic massage session the oils are adapted to your "dosha", i.e. your "type". It can, therefore, also serve as a response to a number of medical complaints. During my massage sessions, I use some basic ayurvedic techniques.
Californian massage
This massage was developed at the Esalen Institute in California (US). Large, sliding sweep movements on the body, strong frictions or loosening grips alternate with each other.
Chakra massage
"Chakras are the symbols of human levels of consciousness", according to Jung. They are centres from which energy is taken up or given off, and where energies communicate with each other in an intense way. By using massage we can stimulate those energies.
Fascia therapy
Fascia therapy is a very soft manual treatment that can detect movement or lack of movement in the body. It can also stop strain, without manipulation. Thus you improve the possibilities for movement, sensitivity and vitality of the body and get in touch with life again. As indeed, moving is living. Some basic fascia principles and techniques are used during the massage.
Maya (Aztec) massage
The Maya/Aztec massage was developed by the Mayas in pre-Columbian Mexico. The Aztecs further developed it. Originally it was used for the treatment of muscles and bones and for bronchial tubes. Additional effects included deep relaxation and prevention of blockages, which can result in a large dose of extra energy. Maya massage is, therefore, a great anti-stress massage.
Shiatsu
According to the Japanese Ministry of Health, Shiatsu is "a form of manipulation with thumbs, fingers and palm of the hand, owing to which a certain pressure is exercised on the human skin without the use of any instrument in order to correct disorders, to boost or to save the health, and to treat specific problems".

The basic Shiatsu massage techniques that I use are directed at relaxation and a better flow of energy. However, they also have a strengthening effect on the body and mind and stimulate the self-healing capacity of the body.
Swedish massage
This technique of massage combines the methods of operation and strokes of Ling and Mezger: constant, prolonged, flowing strokes; kneading massage; rubbing massage with circular, linear or cross-grained strokes; short, quick, knocking and vibrating or shaking movements.
Tragering
In the Trager-method the body is softly and rhythmically rocked, swung and shaken. This stimulates real wave motions through your body that result in deep relaxation and an increased mobility of muscles and joints.
Tuina massage
Tuina-massage is part of traditional Chinese medicine. Pressure is forced both upon the meridians - channels through which energy flows - and on specific points, owing to which the qi-stream - i.e. vital energy of life - can freely flow through the body. According to Chinese medicine, imbalance in the qi-stream is the cause of illnesses. If the qi-stream is in balance, you will feel relaxed and full of vitality. In my massages, I use some basic techniques.
Use of oils
During the massage I use vegetable oils for massage such as sweet almond oil, St. John's oil, sesame oil, oil of apricot seed or oil of roses. Depending on the circumstances I add some droplets of etheric oils, which broaden the healing influence of the touch even more.
